Students should pursue core engineering subjects: Jayaprakash Gandhi

Career consultant Jayaprakash Gandhi pitched for the students to go for core engineering subjects rather than artificial intelligence (AI) or data science related subjects due to the faster changing technology in AI and related fields. 

Addressing students on the topic ‘In the age of emerging technologies’ during the 23^rd edition of the two-day ‘The Hindu EducationPlus Career Counselling Fair 2026’ on Sunday (April 12, 2026), he found it disheartening to see the student community being carried away by the social media influencers in choosing their career as well as the colleges.
