Commonwealth Games 2026 Live updates: Opening ceremony set to begin at 12:30 AM IST
The wait is almost over as the Commonwealth Games 2026 are set to officially begin with a spectacular opening ceremony at the OVO Hydro Arena in Glasgow.
Around 3,000 athletes from 74 nations will take part in the traditional Parade of Nations, marking the start of an 11-day sporting spectacle across the Scottish city.
India’s contingent will be led by Olympic silver medallist Mirabai Chanu as the flag bearer, while Tokyo Olympics bronze medallist Lovlina Borgohain will serve as the ceremonial baton bearer.
The ceremony will also feature cultural performances, live music from leading British artists and the unveiling of the official mascot, Finnie the Unicorn, setting the stage for the Games ahead.
