Railways to conduct exam from February 16; admit cards four days prior
RRB ALP Exam 2026 Date: The Railway Recruitment Boards (RRBs) have confirmed that the RRB Assistant Loco Pilot (ALP) 2025 computer-based examination will be conducted between February 16 and February 18. The recruitment drive aims to fill 9,970 ALP vacancies across various railway zones.
As per the official notification, the exam city intimation slip and travel authority for SC and ST candidates will be activated 10 days before the candidate’s final exam date on the respective RRB websites.

Clarifying the timeline, the RRB in its notice stated, “The link for viewing the Exam City & Date and downloading of Travel Authority for SC/ST candidates will be made live 10 days prior to the final exam date of the candidate for respective CENs on the official websites of all RRBs. Downloading of e-call letters will start about four days prior to the exam date mentioned in the Exam City and Date intimation link.”
Candidates have also been advised to ensure that their Aadhaar remains unlocked in the UIDAI system before reporting to the examination centre, as Aadhaar-based verification will be used to facilitate smooth entry and registration on the exam day.
The RRB ALP CBT 1 will be an objective-type test comprising 75 questions for 75 marks, to be attempted within 60 minutes. The paper will assess candidates across four sections covering basic aptitude and general awareness.
The selection process involves multiple stages. Candidates qualifying CBT 1 will be shortlisted for CBT 2, followed by a Computer-Based Aptitude Test and document verification. Aspirants are advised to plan their preparation carefully for each stage to improve their chances of final selection in the RRB ALP recruitment 2025.
