“During questioning, the accused revealed that he drives a rented e-rickshaw in Khatu, Rajasthan, and frequently travels between Jhajjar and Khatu. To avoid repeated toll tax payments on the route and to display false influence, he obtained a fake Special Police Officer (SPO) identity card for Rs 500 from an individual in Jhajjar. He also got a Haryana Police SI uniform stitched for Rs 2,200 from Jharoda Kalan in Delhi,” the spokesperson added.

Items recovered by the police from his possession include an Aadhaar card, a PAN card, a fake SPO identity card, and the sub-inspector police uniform.

Police said Kumar was produced before a Gurgaon court on Sunday and remanded to a day in police custody for further questioning to ascertain if he had accomplices or was involved in additional offences.

He will likely be remanded to judicial custody later on Monday, officials said.
