Complete Kumbh Mela projects on time: CS to Nashik officials
PUNE/NASHIK: The state chief secretary, Rajesh Aggarwal, stressed the need for various departments to complete all projects in Nashik city and Trimbakeshwar before the commencement of the Simhastha Kumbh Mela.

Aggarwal arrived in Nashik on Friday for his three-day visit to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of different infrastructure projects in Nashik city and Trimbakeshwar.
“I would request the different departments to ensure that the projects are completed on time before the event while maintaining high quality,” said Aggarwal.
On Friday the chief secretary inspected construction work at the underpass at Dwarka circle, a bridge being built near Tapovan, new ghats on the banks of the Godavari River, the solid waste management and compost plant near Pandav Leni, and water purification and sewage treatment projects at three locations in Nashik city.
The Nashik divisional commissioner and chairman of the Nashik Trimbakeshwar Kumbh Mela Authority (NTKMA), Praveen Gedam, NTKMA commissioner Shekhar Singh, municipal commissioner Manisha Khetri and other senior district and Nashik civic officials were present.
Gedam assured the chief secretary that all projects will be completed before next year’s Kumbh Mela without compromising on quality.
“Administrative approvals for various projects have been granted so that work can begin without delay,” he added.
Singh said that work on all projects is being undertaken at a hectic pace.
The chief secretary is scheduled to visit the Nashik Road railway station, Nashik Airport and other city spots where projects are being implemented. On Sunday, he will visit Trimbakeshwar to examine the projects undertaken in the temple town.
