‘Gerrymandering’ is a term often used in politics across the globe. Lawmakers are frequently accused of siding with one political party or side by “gerrymandering” the electoral map.

The term has entered Indian polity with Indian National Congress leader Gaurav Gogoi accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of using the delimitation exercise as a tool for “gerrymandering.”
